The graduation season has arrived, where the passion of midsummer intertwines with hope. The International College of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) organized a series of meaningful graduation activities for international students about to embark on new journeys. At the moment of farewell, these warm and unforgettable memories carry the deep affection and blessings of the alma mater, and also stand as a witness to the growth and transformation of international students at USTC.
On June 22, the 2025 USTC Commencement and Degree Conferral Ceremony was held in the university’s Middle Campus Gymnasium. International students gathered together with Chinese graduates to celebrate this important milestone in life. Dressed in academic gowns, international students proudly stepped onto the stage to receive the symbolic tassel-turning ceremony, marking the completion of their studies and the beginning of a new chapter.
On the morning of June 23, the international graduates, wearing their academic gowns, gathered at Guo Moruo Square with the faculty from the International College, took a commemorative group photo, capturing a cherished moment. Afterwards, the playful graduation photo session brought lively energy to the scene, with students showcasing their creativity and smiles. Interviews also captured their heartfelt gratitude to the university, their hopes for the future, and their fond reflections on this special journey—every word brimming with genuine emotion.
On the evening of June 25, the West Campus Student Activity Center sparkled with lights and echoed with applause and laughter as the 2025 International Student Graduation Party was held. The celebration began with a heartfelt graduation video that evoked collective memories among the audience. Hosts Simran and Afshine opened the evening with enthusiastic speeches, injecting warmth and energy into the event.
Professor QU Kun, Director of the Office of International Cooperation, delivered a congratulatory speech. He extended warm wishes to the graduates, encouraging them to take what they have learned at USTC and contribute their wisdom and strength to the world.
Following this, three graduate representatives — Luisina Perea (School of Management), Adnan Ibrahim (School of Engineering Science), and Mostafa Orban (Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology) — took the stage one after another to share their reflections. They looked back emotionally on their experiences at USTC, expressed gratitude to the university, faculty, and peers, and conveyed their confidence and aspirations for the future.
The evening was filled with diverse and exciting performances. The graceful classical dance "Nirmohiya" showcased exotic elegance, while the duet "Vivo Per Lei" brought tender emotions. Solo songs "Give Me Some Sunshine" and "Rafta Rafta Wo Meri Hasti" energized the atmosphere, and group performances like "Tumhe Dillagi" and "Sooraj Dooba Hain Yaaro" brought the crowd to a climax, with waves of applause, music, and laughter.
Interactive games throughout the night further strengthened bonds among students and teachers, fostering joy and connection. The lighthearted and youthful atmosphere added even more vibrancy to the evening. During the final open stage session, everyone sang and danced freely, unleashing joy and reluctant farewells in a night that belonged to them. The party concluded with a group photo, capturing a timeless moment of celebration and unity.
