Founded in 2016, the USTC Foreign Students Association (FSA) operates under the guidance of the International College. Its members are international students from across the globe. FSA is committed to serving the international‑student community by creating opportunities for communication, self‑expression and fulfilling extracurricular experiences.
In recent years, FSA has streamlined its organizational structure. It now consists of three core departments: the Department of Academic Affairs, the Department of Culture & Sports, and the Department of Public Affairs.
1. Department of Academic Affairs
It focuses on supporting international students’ academic growth and building platforms for peer‑to‑peer academic exchange within the international student community.
2. Department of Culture & Sports
It enriches campus life for international students by organizing cultural, artistic and sports activities, fostering cross‑cultural communication and integration among students.
3. Department of Public Affairs
Serving as FSA’s comprehensive operational hub, it takes charge of new‑student support, public communication, volunteer coordination and logistical support for association‑wide events.
All departments work collaboratively to deliver diverse extracurricular resources for international students at USTC.
In addition to Foreign Students Association, there are many other student clubs in University of Science and Technology of China. Under the supervision and management of the Youth League Committee of USTC, USTC student clubs organize a variety of student activities, adding zeal to student’s campus life. International students are welcome to contact these clubs and join in their team. Charity organizations, art club, orchestras, debate team, dragon boat team, basketball team, football team…… You are encouraged to join in any student club registered at USTC to develop your interest.
